Ethicon Physiomesh Lawsuits
There has been an outpouring of complaints from injury caused by hernia mesh devices, including the voluntary recall of the Ethicon Physiomesh™ in 2016. There have been serious complications from hernia mesh devices, causing pain, infection and the need for ongoing medical care. If you have had Ethicon Physiomesh™ or Atrium C-QUR hernia mesh injuries, you may be eligible to receive compensation for medical care, pain, lost income and more.
A hernia mesh is designed to strengthen weakened tissue caused by hernias. Physiomesh™ was created to treat abdominal hernias, used to patch hernias and strengthen the abdominal wall. The mesh is made from polypropylene, which can attach to organs if it comes in direct contact. A layer of Moncryl was added to the outside of the mesh, but the hernia mesh has proven to be substandard to other equivalent products. Some of the issues include:
- Infection
- Hernia recurrence
- Swelling
- Migration
- Pain
- Intestinal blockage
There were an estimated 300,000 or more Physiomesh™ devices used in hernia repairs, and many people who may still have problems caused by this defective product. If you have a hernia mesh, especially Physiomesh™ or Atrium C-QUR, you should be aware of potential issues with these medical products.
Atrium C- QUR® Lawsuits
Another hernia mesh product that has been causing extreme complications and health risks is the Atrium C-QUR. This product has also had similar problems as those found with Physiomesh™ but with some other serious medical concerns. These include rejection, organ perforation, dental issues, liver problems and more.
If you have had problems with a hernia mesh surgery that used Ethicon Physiomesh™ or Atrium C-QUR® that required additional medical care or removal of the device, contact our team at Moriarty Injury Lawyer today.
